ERIC CLAPTON: LIFE IN 12 BARS IN THEATERS NEXT MONTH

Abramorama and Showtime Networks announced today they will release ERIC CLAPTON: LIFE IN 12 BARS, the Showtime Documentary Film from Oscar®-winner Lili Fini Zanuck in theaters on November 24, 2017. SHOWTIME® is set to air the film with a broadcast premiere on February 10, 2018. Over the past few years, Abramorama has emerged as the go to distributor for music driven documentaries, collaborating multiple times with Green Day, Neil Young and Pearl Jam, and releasing films about The Beatles, Bert Berns, Clive Davis, Sean Combs and The Grateful Dead.

Directed by Oscar-winner Lili Fini Zanuck (Rush, Driving Miss Daisy), with Passion Pictures’ John Battsek (One Day In September, Searching For Sugar Man) among the producers and edited by BAFTA winner Chris King (Amy, Senna, Exit Through The Gift Shop), ERIC CLAPTON: LIFE IN 12 BARS is an unflinching and deeply personal look into the life of legendary 18-time Grammy® winner Eric Clapton.

Richard Abramowitz, President of Abramorama, said: “The breadth of Eric Clapton’s career – John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominos – is impossible to be true and yet Lili Fini Zanuck’s brilliant film makes it clear that it is. We’re very proud to start the holiday season with this gift to lovers of great music.”

ERIC CLAPTON: LIFE IN 12 BARS gives audiences a rare insight into a deeply personal story encompassing the dizzying highs and extreme lows of Clapton’s private and public life, made even more intimate by Clapton’s voice-over narrative assembled from historic and newly recorded interviews along with similar contributions from his close collaborators, friends and family. Incorporating exclusive access to Clapton’s extensive personal archive, including his most famous performances, backstage footage, home movie footage, iconic and private photos, handwritten letters and personal diary entries, audiences will see the sheer raw talent and ambition that was blighted by personal tragedy, sacrifice and addiction.
