Breaking Glass Pictures Kicks Off 2013 with Two North American Acquisitions

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013

Breaking Glass Pictures has finalized a deal for the US release of Amelia’s 25th, starring Oscar nominee Jennifer Tilly (Bullets Over Broadway, Bound, Bride of Chucky), Danny Trejo (Machete, Desperado, “Sons of Anarchy”, Robert Rodriguez (celebrated director of Machete, Sin City, From Dusk Till Dawn), and Electra Avellan (Planet Terror, Machete) as Amelia. Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff signed a contract following a meeting with Karin Kelts of KMK Productions.

First time director Martín Yernazian leads an all-star cast in this heartwarming dark comedy about what turning twenty-five means to a struggling actress in Los Angeles. With a disconnected father, her live-in boyfriend struggling financially, and surviving in a complex of noisy neighbors who call themselves artists, her life could not seem bleaker. Spanning the course of one day, Amelia finds guidance and wisdom in the most curious places: a movie star, a photographer, casting directors, unemployed actors, plus-size sex shop owners, psychics, and a cross-dressing neighbor, all who lead her down the winding road of acceptance.

Supporting cast includes comedienne Margaret Cho, singer Ashley Parker Angel, Jon Abrahams (Meet the Parents), Karin Kelts, and Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens).

Following Amelia, Wolff signed a deal with director Christian Filippella for a North American release of Silver Case, starring Oscar nominee Eric Roberts and Vincent DePaul. The world of Hollywood scheming reaches a nasty low when a powerful producer (Roberts) hatches a plan to undermine the future success of his shady archrival. His plot begins with the delivery of a silver briefcase, which soon goes missing, setting off a chain of events. The Senator engages his best team to locate the package but doesn’t count on the tenacity of two thugs who have the mysterious prize in their possession.
