DIANA
RELEASE DATE: FALL 2013

DIRECTOR: Oliver Hirschbiegel
CAST: Naomi Watts, Naveen Andrews

DIANA takes audiences into the private realm of one the world’s most iconic and inescapably public women — the Princess of Wales, Diana (two-time Oscar® nominee NAOMI WATTS) — in the last two years of her meteoric life. On the occasion of the 16th anniversary of her sudden death, acclaimed director Oliver Hirschbiegel (the Oscar®-nominated Downfall) explores Diana’s final rite of passage: a secret love affair with Pakistani heart surgeon Hasnat Khan (NAVEEN ANDREWS, “Lost,” The English Patient), the human complications of which reveal the Princess’s climactic days in a compelling new light.

Hirschbiegel directs from a screenplay by award-winning playwright Stephen Jeffreys, inspired by the book Diana: Her Last Love by Kate Snell, which was in turn drawn from extensive interviews with close friends and confidantes. The result is a window into the tumultuous, change-filled period from 1995-1997, in the wake of Diana’s shattering divorce from Prince Charles, and at the moment when she stood on the cusp of a different life, evolving into a global humanitarian, a master of maneuvering fame and becoming her own woman.

WE ARE WHAT WE ARE
RELEASE DATE: 09/27/13

DIRECTOR: Jim Mickle
CAST: Bill Sage, Ambyr Childers, Julia Garner, Wyatt Russell, Kelly McGillis, Michael Parks

In WE ARE WHAT WE ARE, a seemingly wholesome and benevolent family, the Parkers have always kept to themselves, and for good reason. Behind closed doors, patriarch Frank (Bill Sage, “Boardwalk Empire”) rules his family with a rigorous ferver, determined to keep his ancestral customs intact at any cost. As a torrential rainstorm moves into the area, tragedy strikes and his daughters Iris (Ambyr Childers, THE MASTER) and Rose (Julia Garner, MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE, SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR) are forced to assume responsibilities that extend beyond those of a typical family. As the unrelenting downpour continues to flood their small town, the local authorities begin to uncover clues that bring them closer to the secret that the Parkers have held closely for so many years.

WE ARE WHAT WE ARE also stars Michael Parks (DJANGO UNCHAINED), Golden Globe Nominee Kelly McGillis (WITNESS), Nick Damici (STAKELAND), Wyatt Russell (THIS IS 40) and newcomer Jack Gore. WE ARE WHAT WE ARE was written by Mickle and Damici. The two previously collaborated on the screenplays for Mickle’s first two features, MULBERRY STREET and STAKELAND (winner of the “Midnight Madness” Audience Award at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival).

A re-imagining of the 2010 Mexican film of the same name, director Jim Mickle paints a gripping portrait of an introverted family struggling to keep their macabre traditions alive.

The film had its world premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival before screening at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight.

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Here is the trailer for Sony Pictures Classics’ upcoming film YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER, opening in theaters on September 22, 2010. YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER is directed by Woody Allen
and starring Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts and Antonio Banderas.
.

Woody Allen’s You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger follows a pair of married couples, Alfie (Anthony Hopkins) and Helena (Gemma Jones), and their daughter Sally (Naomi Watts) and husband Roy (Josh Brolin), as their passions, ambitions, and anxieties lead them into trouble and out of their minds.

After Alfie leaves Helena to pursue his lost youth and a free-spirited call girl named Charmaine (Lucy Punch), Helena abandons rationality and surrenders her life to the loopy advice of a charlatan fortune teller.

Unhappy in her marriage, Sally develops a crush on her handsome art gallery owner boss, Greg (Antonio Banderas), while Roy, a novelist nervously awaiting the response to his latest manuscript, becomes moonstruck over Dia (Freida Pinto), a mystery woman who catches his gaze through a nearby window.

Despite these characters’ attempts to dodge their problems with pipe dreams and impracticable plans, their efforts lead only to heartache, irrationality, and perilous hot water.

Taking its title from the prediction fortune tellers use to beguile their marks, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, illustrates with wry humor how easy it is for our illusions to make fools of us all.
