Monday, August 20th, 2012

Here is the trailer from the upcoming film THE LAST STAND. The movie is directed by Kim Jee-woon, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Forest Whitaker, Eduardo Noriega, Rodrigo Santoro, Johnny Knoxville, Jaimie Alexander, Luis Guzmán, Peter Stormare, Zach Gilford and Genesis Rodriguez.

THE LAST STAND opens in theaters January 18, 2013.

After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy.

With the help of a fierce band of lawless mercenaries led by the icy Burrell (Peter Stormare), Cortez begins racing towards the US-Mexico border at 250 mph in a specially-outfitted Corvette ZR1 with a hostage in tow. Cortez’ path: straight through Summerton Junction, where the whole of the U.S. law enforcement, including Agent John Bannister (Forest Whitaker) will have their final opportunity to intercept him before the violent fugitive slips across the border forever.

At first reluctant to become involved, and then counted out because of the perceived ineptitude of his small town force, Owens ultimately rallies his team and takes the matter into his own hands, setting the stage for a classic showdown.

Suzanne Blech, President of Screen Media Films, announced today that Screen Media has acquired North American rights for “Heleno” after its very successful screening at the Miami International Film Festival, produced and presented by Miami Dade College. Screen Media will release the film theatrically in Summer 2012.

A biography of the tragic life of one of Brazil’s greatest soccer players, Heleno de Freitas, “Heleno” stars international box-office star Rodrigo Santoro as Heleno. Santoro also stars in the upcoming Lionsgate feature “What To Expect When You’re Expecting,” and recent titles have included the Warner Brothers’ worldwide hit, “300.” Heleno, was a legend whose career shone briefly, but brightly, through the 1940s. The film is directed by José Henrique Fonseca, written by Felipe Bragança, Fernando Castets, José Henrique Fonseca, produced by Eduardo Pop and Rodrigo Teixeira and his production entity RT Features, which also helped to finance the film, and shot by Walter Carvalho (“Central Station”). ONE FOR THE MONEY
Release Date: January 27, 2012

Starring: Katherine Heigl, Jason O’Mara, Daniel Sunjata, John Leguizamo, Sherri Shepherd, and Debbie Reynolds
Directed by: Julie Anne Robinson

Katherine Heigl brings Stephanie Plum – the popular heroine of Janet Evanovich’s worldwide best-selling eighteen-book mystery series – to vibrant life in Lionsgate and Lakeshore Entertainment’s ONE FOR THE MONEY.

A proud, born-and-bred Jersey girl, Stephanie Plum’s got plenty of attitude, even if she’s been out of work for the last six months and just lost her car to a debt collector. Desperate for some fast cash, Stephanie turns to her last resort: convincing her sleazy cousin to give her a job at his bail bonding company…as a recovery agent. True, she doesn’t even own a pair of handcuffs and her weapon of choice is pepper spray, but that doesn’t stop Stephanie from taking on Vinny’s biggest bail-jumper: former vice cop and murder suspect Joe Morelli – yup, the same sexy, irresistible Joe Morelli who seduced and dumped her back in high school.

Nabbing Morelli would be satisfying payback – and a hefty payday – but as Stephanie learns the ins and outs of becoming a recovery agent from Ranger, a hunky colleague who’s the best in the business, she also realizes the case against Morelli isn’t airtight. Add to the mix her meddling family, a potentially homicidal boxer, witnesses who keep dying and the problem of all those flying sparks when she finds Morelli himself…well, suddenly Stephanie’s new job isn’t nearly as easy as she thought.
