OVERVIEW: A young street magician living in Los Angeles is forced to use his magic and wit to save his little sister in the edgy coming-of-age tale, Sleight, arriving on Digital HD on July 18, 2017 and on Blu-ray™, DVD and On Demand on August 1, 2017 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Delivering impressive performances from breakout stars Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner, Ride Along), Seychelle Gabriel ("Sleepy Hollow," "Falling Skies"), Dulé Hill ("Psych," "Ballers"), Storm Reid (12 Years a Slave, "Chicago P.D.") and Sasheer Zamata ("Saturday Night Live," "Inside Amy Schumer"), the film weaves together the worlds of magic and crime for a vivid portrayal of a young man faced with extraordinary circumstances and the lengths that he will go to change them. Sleight marks the directorial debut for J.D. Dillard and comes from executive producers Michael J. Luisi, President of WWE Studios, and Jason Blum, whose Blumhouse Productions produced this year's box office hit Get Out.
SYNOPSIS:
Bo (Lattimore) is a young street magician who is left to
raise his little sister after his parents pass away. To
keep a roof over their heads, he takes on a job selling
drugs for psychopathic drug dealer Angelo (Hill). When he
realizes he's in too deep and that he and his sister are
at risk, Bo uses his magic to find a way out in this
inventive and original film.
BLU-RAY:
The film is
presented in widescreen in a 2.40:1 aspect ration preserving its
theatrical format. The picture is just flawless. Not only the
picture looks great in this release, also the sound it is good,
a 5.1 Dolby Digital in English that provides a good complement
to the picture. It also includes English
French and Spanish subtitles.
