Drowning Mona: March 3, 2000

Somewhat north of the metropolis of Manhattan lies a quiet little town of Verplanck, New York. Nothing exciting really happens there excepts perhaps the annual knife-throwing contents. That isn't to say that life in Verplanck is boring. For one thing, the automobile of choice is the Yugo. For another, there seem to be more landscapers than land. But strangest of all, no one in this small town seems to blink when one of its best known and possibly least liked residents, Mona Dearly (Bette Midler) drives her Yugo into the Hudson to her death.

All in all, Mona's death could be described as a pretty fortuitous accident for everyone whose lives she touched, or in some cases, hit. Excepts of the fact that it wasn't an accident. Somebody in Verplank wanted Mona dead 2000 Artwork and Design Destination Film Distribution Company, Inc.

I think drowning Mona is a waste of time. Bette Midler is the ugliest thing to hit the movies since Godzilla! Bettes performance is as flabby as her  Face it~ she is all over the screen~literally! This movie is as old as Bette's useless acting carrer! Do not see this poor excuse of entertainment! ~peace out~bob

superb cast in a very clever black comedy.Bette Midler has a blast playing the ugly bitch in a role most actresses in her position would reject because of their vanity.Besides that she still has more talent than most of the new babes together.

yuck what a wast of time.  Dumbest show I ever seen and they said go see at the matinee, hey save your money and don't waste your time

This is so sick. I loved it, the writer is a genius! Not the boring sophisticated comedy you usually get to see if big hollywood-names try to be independent. It's a shem though that there are no scenes between Midler and devito.Otherwise awesome!!
