Great story, really stayed accurate with the comic and did an outstanding
job of showing the abilities of every character. Hope for a sequel!

This is definitely one of the best comic book movies I've ever seen (not
as good as the first Batman, but pretty damn close). It was one of
the few movies that actually captured the feel of the comic book
perfectly. The story felt as if it was pulled straight out of the
comics, the action sequences were well done (especially when they involved
Ray Park as Toad), and the acting was very good. I especially liked
Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellen as Prof. Xavier and Magneto,
respectively. They gave the movie a certain sophistication that is
often lacking in comic book or action films. It was good that the
film didn't turn them into mortal enemies, but rather two people with
essentially the same goal and with different methods to reach it.
The only reason that I'm giving this movie a 90 instead of a 100 is
because I didn't like the fact that Storm and Cyclops, who are two very
important characters in the comic book series, were merely supporting
characters in the film.

The movie was done quite nicely considering that (as few may know) its
actually a lead-in to an upcoming live action TV series that picks up
where the movie left off (supposedly featuring the same actors). Also the
series is supposed connect with future X-men movies. I can only hope the
series keeps the feel of the movie.

For the sake of conversation, I want to point out some small things that I
noticed. When the Senator turned into liquid and ran off the table,
why did Storm have to run and tell the group? You would think that
some type of communication device or a monitoring system would have been
deployed in such a high tech facility wouldn't you. My wife and I
have FM wireless intercoms in our house and garage for crying out loud.
What about Magneto's plan? It really made no sense for such a
intelligent character. If he made mutants out of others, what would
stop them from using their powers against him? Perhaps one of you
can tell me if the toad, and Saber Tooth died? I wasn't to clear on
that one. I hope they are not because in the comics they were always
around weren't they? Did anyone notice how the dialogue written to
get a laugh for Storm fell flat in one scend? It happened when
finally she took control of the fight with the Toad. She asked him,
"Do you know what happens to toads that are struck by
lightning?" "Same thing that happens to anyone else,"
she said. It got no audible response from the crowd that I watched
the movie with. Why? Because her previous scenes were so flat that
we didn't expect any attemps at humor from her. If those lines were
given to Wolverine, it would have elicited a laugh or at least a smile. In
case your wondering, I liked the movie very much and would give it 4 stars
or a 100 score. But it could have even better. I read in USA
Today, that if it fails to generate enough revenue there might not be a
sequel nor ground work for the likes of Spidey and F4. If they do a
sequel however, I hope they flesh out some of the characters that weren't
given enough to do in this one. I was also wondering, how in the
world was the toad allowed to administer such a beating to Storm and the
others. In terms of power, his character was the least of the lot.
Ever notice how how much damage super heroes do to buildings and property?

As a reader of X-Men comics for nearly 10 years, the movie was done well!
my congrats to the classic x-men trademark scenes and confrontations
(Jean/Scott/Logan),(Scott/Logan). My only complaint is how they
downplayed the powers of certain major x-peeps. I counted maybe 5
times Cyclops used his power? And poor Jean Grey--they could have
done sooooo much more with her awesome abilities--i was very disappointed.
Oh..and Cyclops doesnt use foul language either! But as for the
rest! LOVED MYSTIQUE! LOVED WOLVERINE! I even LOVED
TOAD! Gold claps go out to Anna, Patrick, Halle, and Ian as well!
They could not have picked a better Xavier! All I can say now is I
can wait for the sequel?...hint hint (can we say Sentinals?, Gambit?
maybe even the Jean/Phoenix plot?)

The movie was great.A good indication of the quality of a movie is if it
seems to go by quickly and leave you wanting more. This movie did both.I
thought Hugh played wolverine to a tee.I personally feel this is the best
movie to ever originate from a comic. From the sounds of it there will be a
sequel or two.I can't wait !!!!!!

This movie captures the very essence of the X-Men. It not only reamains
true to the comic (with some exceptions) but it also brings a new
futuristic more adult aproach to appeal to all audiences. The movie will
definitely renew intrest in old fans and capture new ones as well. The
acting was absolutely top notch, with a super cast to boot. Hugh Jackman's
portrayal as Wolverine was amazing and made him the shining star of the
movie, everyone else performed beautifully and created an onscreen
chemistry that won't soon be forgotten. If your not a fan of the X-Men
comic, you will be by the movies end, and if your a fan, the movie will
blow your mind !!!

This is a great adaptation, witch is quite admirable considering that the
transition between comic books and big screen rarely works. The caracters
are well used and respect the essence of the original serie. Nevertheless,
no need to be an x-man hard-fan to appreciate the film. The plot is simple
(as always good vs evil) but it's in the caracters relationship that we
can truly appreciate the best parts. And there are many. Obviously too
short, ( more or longer exchange between Sewart and McKellon will have not
hurt), we can only expect that this movie is just a beginning, the tip of
the iceberg...

This movie was very exciting and to any comic fans , I'm sure they'll get
a kick out of the fantastic casting/acting of the onscreen Rogue.
Anna Paquinn's performance was dead on point and Hugh Jackman was perfect
in his role as the Wolverine! Although this film was anti-climactic,
it left a lot of doors open for future films and thats all X- comic fans
wanted!

The movie was UNREAL!!!!! It's a must see this summer. The Blockbuster of
the summer. Hugh Jackman Does a Perfect job! I loved it and would urge
anyone who wants to see a plain old fashion good movie to see it.

Sure, the "REAL" critics' comments about weak plot and stiff
acting have a little merit, but nothing that noticeably detracted from
this movie in any way. My only gripe is that Storm seemed a
little...boring. She's got the look right on, though, along with the
intellectual humor; and it was nice to see her fight back. Boy, can she
look angry! Director Bryan Singer did everything right: casting, costume
designs, attitude, style, mood. Michael "K-men's" music was
right on target, especially in the emotional climax. There was no comic
relief character (a la Jar Jar Binks), thank goodness; but there was
humor, the dry, cynical wit among characters that we X-fans have grown to
love. Everyone had high expectations for this movie, and it delivers
everything a blockbuster summer movie should, and then some. The highest
praise I can give it (though a sad commentary of Hollywood) is that it's
not your typical comic book movie, by a long shot.

Great movie - lots of fantastic effects with great cast and terrific
story. My only complaint is that it was too short! It could
have been an hour longer, at least. I liked the development of the
characters, but the movie could have spent more time in this area, as well
as lengthened the combat scenes. I look forward to the sequel -- in
the mean time, I'm going to see this one again several times.

All I have to say is that this movie is the greatest film i have ever seen
and i cannot believe that Mr. Ebert and USA today gave this movie such a
low rating. First of all, i read Ebert's review and it seems that he
doesnt know a thing that he's talking about. As for USA today, who
claimed that Halle Berry cannot act is greatly mistaken. Afterall
the x-men fans are the true critics since we have been following the comic
books and the tv shows for most of our lives. Ebert and the rest of
the movie critics who have gave this movie a low mark are just plain dumb.
We all know this movie rocks!

A MUST SEE FILM! I especially adored the portrayal of Wolverine /
Logan ! An excellent performance! What is that guy's name?
Whoever that guy is, he's the best actor on the planet. Right?
Everyone, go see the movie! Please! You'll LOVE IT!

damn, dope special effects. I just loved the characters. Brilliant humour
and plot. Although I have watched the cartoon series, this is far
superior. Wolverine is one of my favorite characters all time, and i
enjoyed how they portrayed his character in this movie. Lots of special
effects!

On outstanding film, which avoids such traps as being too funny and coming
off too corny. The FX are well done, only to the point to sevre to
the plot and not just for the sake of it. Logan's line to
cyclops is just brillant humor, a must see, especially for
fans and even for non-fans!!!

I thought the film was an excellent transformation from comic to movie.
Other comic to movie transformations have been done bad (Spawn) but X-men
has done a great job. The comic book stories and movie story lines were
the same which was pleasing to see. I thought that there could have been
more main caracters from the comics involved in the movie, but this allows
room for a hopeful sequal. X-men is both funny and action packed and a
great movie to see.

This movie was outstanding. No doubt about it. And, most people don't
understand WHY Rogue is a girl. This is a prequel. This movie paved the
way for things like the TV show...Mystique was, well, awesome. And, Hugh
Jackman was great as Wolverine. The whole story behind Magneto was great.
Brian Singer did an awesome job and, if you could hear, Jackman threw in a
"bub" here or there. It stayed to it's comic book roots. (With a
change here or there.) This movie is higher than "Scary Movie"
on my list of summer movies...The Matrix feel made it an awesome comic
book movie. Batman doesn't compare. My score says it all.

First of all, this was the funnest movie of the summer, no doubt about
that. It had everything, action, comedy, drama, suspense, everything that
a good summer movie should have. I went to a screening of it in Westwood,
California and everybody in the theatre was laughing and cheering the
movie on. It is very well written and the acting is awesome. Even though
people were talking about Rogue being a girl instead of a women, I thought
that Anna Paquin made an excellent Rogue. The casting is perfect and let
me tell you, Mystique is amazing in this. But then again, so is everybody
else. All I can say is, thiswas my fav. movie of the summer!

I saw the movie and it was good. Its not comic bookish, and its not a
techno film like Blade. It was a seriouse film, good story and excellent
dialouge. In my point of view its one of the best based of a comic book
movie sinsce 1989 BATMAN. Hugh Jackman is THE wolverine and portays him
well. The action was awsome more than you expect, very dramatic, the
actors did a good job on the characters the fighting is well done. The end
of the film leaves with another sequel coming and they should.
