OVERVIEW: Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE) proudly
announces the Blu-ray high-definition debut of Disney’s animated masterpiece, Beauty and the
Beast on October 5, 2010. Disney’s most requested film, Beauty and the Beast, arrives for the first time on Blu-ray Hi-Def as
the second installment to the company’s new Diamond Collection. The Blu-ray transformation
reveals the magic, music and majesty of the film as never before experienced with state-of-the-art
picture restoration, pristine 7.1 Digital Surround Sound and hours of additional viewing
experiences that include behind the scenes features, deleted scenes, enhanced music tracks,
immersive games and more.
SYNOPSIS: Set in and around a quaint French village during the late 18th century, Beauty and the Beast
follows the fantastic adventures of Belle, a bright and beautiful young woman who finds escape
from her ordinary life, and the advances of a boorish suitor, Gaston, by reading books. Meanwhile,
off in a castle in the distance, a cruel young prince is cast under the spell of an enchantress who
turns him into a tormented beast, while transforming his servants into animated household objects.
In order to remove the curse, the Beast must discover a true love who will return his affection
before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose. When Belle’s inventor father stumbles upon the
Beast’s castle and is taken prisoner, Belle comes to the rescue and agrees to take her father’s
place. With the help of the castle’s enchanted staff, she sees beneath the Beast’s exterior and
discovers the heart and soul of a human prince.
BLU-RAY: One of
Disney's most anticipated classics arrives in Blu-ray this
October 5, 2010, "Beauty and The Beast". This
beloved fairy tale one of only two animated films to be
nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture, makes its high
definition appearance in one of Disney's best HD animated
releases so far. The film makes part of Disney new Diamond
Edition releases and it will be available for a limited time
only.
Beauty and The Beast Diamond Edition
is
presented in a widescreen format 1.78:1. aspect ratio. Totally
restored this by far the best restoration so far of
any of the previous released Disney's classics. For me it was
surprising to see that the studio did not expanded the picture
to a widescreen format, nevertheless it doesn't take anything
away from the quality of the picture. Even with the full screen
format, I was stunned by array of bright colors.
Not just the picture was
restored in this diamond edition, also the sound was upgraded
with an all new 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio (48kHz/24bit) that
completes the delightful experience of this memorable classic,
The sound restoration is as
perfect as it can be, bringing to life the music and sound
effects to a whole new level for this animated masterpiece.
Disney Home Entertainment has
done it again with this Diamond Edition, making it a must see
and own before it goes back to the Disney's vault. The beautiful
animation and the unforgettable music will continue to deliver
the Disney magic for generations to come.
Beauty and The Beast Diamond Edition comes in a three disc blu-ray set presentation is very similar to the
previous Disney's diamond releases and is loaded with new bonuses and
features that will keep the whole family fully entertained by
providing amazing details on how this wonderful film was made.
It also includes deleted scenes enhanced music tracks and games
that will keep the little ones very entertain.
This new digitally restored video comes with many surprises
typical of the wonderful world of Disney. To celebrate the
diamond edition of the film and to prepared movie fans to the
next level in video and sound. Disney Home Entertainment it is
releasing to own the Diamond Edition on 2-disc Blu-ray
Hi-Def and 1 disc DVD. The 2-disc Blu-ray is a Special Offer
Combo Pack that also includes a DVD copy of the of the classic
movie, allowing fans to own this classic story on standard def
DVD while they are preparing to upgrade to 1080p Hi-def Blu-ray,
so consumers can “future-proof” their collection.
