OVERVIEW: Summit Entertainment is pleased to announce the release of LETTERS TO JULIET on single-disc, Blu-ray™/DVD Combo on September 14, 2010. The film will also be available as a standard single-disc DVD. Starring Academy Award® winner Vanessa Redgrave, Amanda Seyfried, Gael Garcia Bernal, Chris Egan and Franco Nero, the film is directed by Gary Winick. Summit Entertainment released LETTERS TO JULIET theatrically, to an impressive $52M in domestic box office, on May 14, 2010.
SYNOPSIS: In Verona , Italy – the beautiful city where Romeo first met Juliet – there is a place where the heartbroken leave notes asking Juliet for her help. It’s there that aspiring writer Sophie (Seyfried) finds a 50-year-old letter that will change her life forever. As she sets off on a romantic journey of the heart with the letter’s author, Claire (Vanessa Redgrave), now a grandmother, and Claire’s handsome grandson (Egan), all three will discover that sometimes the greatest love story ever told is your own.
BLU-RAY:
The film is
presented in 1080P widescreen in a 2.35:1 aspect ration
preserving its theatrical format. The picture is just flawless,
bringing to perfection the beautiful Verona's scenery. Summit
Home Entertainment has done an excellent job in this transfer. Not only the picture looks great in this
release, also the sound it is good, a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio in
English and Spanish that provides a good
complement to the picture. It also includes English and Spanish
subtitles.
In terms of Special Features,
the Blu-ray it includes Deleted and Extended Scenes, Audio Commentary w/ the Director and Cast, “The Making of Letters to Juliet: In Italia” featurette and “A Courtyard in Verona ” featurette.
On September 14th Letters to
Juliet will also be available ON DEMAND through Digital Cable,
Satellite TV, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game consoles and it
can be downloaded for rental or purchase on iTunes and Amazon
Video On Demand. The Killer Cut will be available
exclusively for purchase on iTunes, PlayStation 3 game consoles
and Amazon.
