OVERVIEW: On November 30th Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and Jerry Bruckheimer Films will release The Sorcerer’s Apprentice on DVD and Blu-ray! Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) recruits an average college student to be his protégé (Jay Baruche). Balthazar gives him a crash course in magic as they prepare for a battle against dark forces in modern-day Manhattan. The Blu-ray includes some great features such as “Magic in the City”, “The Science of Sorcery”, deleted scenes and more!
SYNOPSIS: Balthazar
Blake (NICOLAS CAGE) is a master sorcerer in modern-day
Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim
Horvath (ALFRED MOLINA). Balthazar can't do it alone, so he
recruits Dave Stutler (JAY BARUCHEL), a seemingly average guy
who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé.
The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in
the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely
partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It'll take all the
courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city
and get the girl as he becomes THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE. The
screenplay is by Matt Lopez and Doug Miro & Carlo Bernard
from a screen story by Matt Lopez and Larry Konner & Mark
Rosenthal.
BLU-RAY:
The film is
presented in 1080P widescreen in a 2.40:1 aspect ration
preserving its theatrical format. The picture is just
flawless, bringing to perfection the special effects of the film. Not only the picture looks great in
this release, also the sound it is good, a 5.1 DTS-HD Master
Audio (48kHz/24bit) in English, Spanish and French that provides a
good complement to the picture. It also includes
English Spanish French
subtitles.
Overall The Sorcerer's
Apprentice Blu-ray Combo delivers in all of it aspects. It is visually gorgeous
and loaded with bonus features making it an excellent gift
choice for this Holiday Season.
