BLU-RAY
REVIEW: UNTHINKABLE
06/11/10

OVERVIEW: Audiences will confront the unimaginable when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment unleashes the action-packed espionage thriller Unthinkable on Blu-ray and DVD this June 15, 2010. Samuel L. Jackson (Oscar® nominee for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Pulp Fiction, 1995) leads an all star cast including Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix trilogy), Michael Sheen (Underworld films, New Unthinkable, Alice in Wonderland), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), and Benito Martinez (Million Dollar Baby) in this high-stakes suspense-thriller where error is not an option and time is of the essence.
SYNOPSIS: The most suspenseful thriller of the year explores just how far we will go to protect ourselves and our country. When a nuclear expert-turned-extremist (Micheal Sheen, "Underworld") plants devices in three separate cities, the country's counter-terrorism force springs into action and captures him. But the location of his bombs remains a mystery. With time running out, FBI agent Helen Brody (Carrie-Anne Moss, "Disturbia") agrees to work alongside a mysterious interrogator known only as "H" (Samuel L. Jackson, "Lakeview Terrace), whose ruthless methods get results. But a power struggle develops between Brody, "H' and the terrorist, and what happens next is unbelievable and -ultimately-Unthinkable!
BLU-RAY:
The film is
presented in 1080P widescreen in a 1.85:1 aspect ration
preserving its theatrical format. The picture is just flawless,
bringing to perfection special effects of the film. No complains
in this department. Not only the picture looks great in this
release, also the sound it is good, a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio in
English that provides a good
complement to the picture. It also includes English subtitles.
Unfortunately the Blu-ray doesn't include French and Spanish
subtitles, which I found to be considering the big Hispanic and
French speaking USA populations.
In terms of Special Features,
the Blu-ray it includes only BD-Live™ enabled feature which connects to real-time information on the cast, music, trivia
while watching the movie. It also includes a director commentary and an alternate, extended ending.
