Now, DEATH AT A FUNERAL rolls in on Blu-ray and DVD featuring even more laughs and a procession of deathly funny bonus features fans will love!
SYNOPSIS: DEATH AT A FUNERAL is a hilarious dark comedy that puts the “fun” in “funeral”! When the patriarch of a dysfunctional family dies, his funeral turns into family circus. Misplaced bodies, blackmail, indecent exposure and a corpse that won’t stay in the box get the party started, but when old family skeletons start tumbling out of the closet, all Hell breaks loose.
DVD: The film is presented in widescreen with a
2.40:1 aspect ration preserving its theatrical
format. Looks clean, images without any types of color
saturation. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has done pretty
good job with this transfer. Not only the picture looks
good in this release, also the sound it is
good. A 5.1 Dolby Digital French and English sound, providing a nice complement to the picture. It also includes
English and French subtitles
In terms of bonus features
the DVD includes close to a hour material. it includes a total
of seven deleted scenes which don't offer anything special. It
also includes some Outtakes that I found to be worthless, I was
not able to laugh at any. "Death at a Funeral: Last Rites, Dark Secrets",
"Family Album" and "Death For Real"
are the main featurettes of the DVD. In these featurettes
filmmakers and the cast offer point of view of the film as well
as details on how the film came to life. Finally it also
includes a feature Commentary with Director Neil LaBute and Chris Rock.
Overall Death at a Funeral
delivers a few laughs making it very similar to the original
British comedy. If you’re a fan of British comedy you’ll
probably find this movie funny otherwise this is not a bad
movie, but a lot of the jokes will be lost on you.
