SYNOPSIS: The world’s end arrives in eight days. Will WOLVERINE and the X-MEN discover the deadly secret to stop it? Uncover the truth in Wolverine And The X-Men: Revelation with five gripping episodes. As the X-Men face a threat lurking in their midst, ANGEL goes against his own father to save fellow mutants. But when his wings are taken from him, will he throw away everything for revenge? Next, dangerous secrets await Scott in the depths of his own mind when he attempts to rid himself of his memories of JEAN GREY. Meanwhile in the future, Xavier struggles at all costs to get information back to Wolverine, even at the risk of ROVER and MARROW’s loyalty. He must act quickly, before GAMBIT succeeds in his treacherous game of thievery. Because if he doesn’t, a power more deadly than anything the X-Men have ever faced will put the world at risk: a fiery entity known as…THE PHOENIX.
REVIEW: The rip off continues. Another five episode DVD featuring our favorite clawed hero is available for us fans of the X-men, but boy, I got to say this rip off is worth to watch. If the previous installment “Deadly Enemies” was the most action packed set of episodes with guess appearances such as the incredible Hulk and Fury, then “Revelations” is the best story wise and more centered in the actual X-men universe. As its name indicates, each episode reveals key important points in the story that makes the story feel that it has some chronology.
The story takes direction from the first episode “Guardian Angel,” where Angel is confronted against his father and making a crucial decision that announce the beginning of one of the most exciting , and my personal favorite, X-men Sagas. After that, the revelations just keep on coming giving the audience a set of background and more understanding on the overall story. We get to know the cause of the future war, what caused the explosion on the mansion, but what I think was the best is how the writers turned the thing around uncovering the real purpose of one of the main characters. To tell you the truth, I knew it was coming, however, I guess I was feeling comfortable with the role that I did not see it coming the way it did, giving the audience a teaser to another Famous X-men Saga.
Finally the X-men Story is taking form, we can see in this DVD that it is beginning to adjust to the original material without repeating what has already been done, which I found refreshing and stimulating, I cannot wait to see what direction the series takes but whatever it is it promises to be exhilarating, fun, and full of surprises. For fan of the series and the X-men this episodes are a must watch, nonetheless, The DVD itself it is not a must own, since its episode content is very scarce, and there is not any Special Features worth of having.
