Blu-ray for the first time ever and in a new Deluxe Edition DVD, both featuring more than 30 minutes of all-new special features, on September 27, 2011 from Paramount Home Entertainment.
SYNOPSIS: In this beloved fable about teen exuberance overcoming rigid, misplaced morality, Kevin Bacon lights up the screen as city-boy
Ren, an outsider who finds himself in an uptight Midwestern town where dancing has been banned. The film’s sensational soundtrack spawned two #1 hits: “Let’s Hear It For The Boy”, and, of course, Kenny
Loggins’ rocking anthem “Footloose”, along with enduring classics such as “Dancing In The Sheets”, “Holding Out For A Hero”, “I’m Free (Heaven Helps The Man)” and the love theme “Almost Paradise”. FOOTLOOSE also stars John Lithgow, Dianne
Wiest, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lori Singer and Chris Penn.

The film is
presented in 1080P widescreen in a 2.40:1 aspect ration
preserving its theatrical format. The picture is just
flawless, bringing to perfection the special effects of the film. Not only the picture looks great in
this release, also the sound it is good, a 5.1 DTS-HD Master
Audio (48kHz/24bit) in English, French 2.0 Surround Sound, Mono Dolby Digital in
Spanish and Portuguese that provides a
good complement to the picture. It also includes
English. Spanish, French,
and Portuguese subtitles.
In terms of special features
the FOOTLOOSE Blu-ray includes new interviews with Kevin Bacon and Sarah Jessica Parker, a tribute to Chris Penn, a costume montage and a first-ever look at Kevin Bacon’s screen test. The discs also feature a commentary by Kevin Bacon and a second commentary by producer Craig Zadan and writer Dean Pitchford. In addition,
previously released featurettes “Footloose: A Modern Musical” and “Footloose: Songs That Tell A Story”.
