REVIEW: MORNING GLORY
3/06/11

OVERVIEW: A sensational cast including Rachel McAdams
(The Notebook), Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones franchise) and Diane Keaton (Something’s Gotta Give) lights up the screen in the “tart, terrific comedy” (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone)
MORNING GLORY, starting your day off right on Blu-ray and DVD March 8, 2011 from Paramount Home Entertainment. Called “smart, fresh, brilliant [and] heartwarming”
(Neil Rosen, NY1), MORNING GLORY tells the hilarious story of an upstart television producer (McAdams) who lands her dream job in New York City. But she quickly learns that the zany world of broadcasting will require not just quick-thinking, but also a good sense of humor, as she learns how to handle the neurotic and unpredictable co-hosts (Ford & Keaton) of a national morning show. Also starring Jeff Goldblum (The Switch) and Patrick Wilson
(The A-Team), the film features entertaining performances from its all-star cast and ample “charm and a light-footed smartness” (Roger Ebert, Chicago
Sun-Times).
SYNOPSIS: When
hard-working TV producer Becky Fuller (McAdams) is fired from a
local news program, her career begins to look as bleak as her
hapless love life. Stumbling into a job at "Daybreak"
(the last-place national morning news show), Becky decides to
revitalize the show by bringing on legendary TV anchor Mike
Pomeroy (Ford). Unfortunately, Pomeroy refuses to cover morning
show staples like celebrity gossip, weather, fashion and crafts
– let alone work with his new co-host, Colleen Peck (Keaton),
a former beauty queen and longtime morning show personality who
is more than happy covering morning "news." As Mike
and Colleen clash, first behind the scenes and then on the air,
Becky's blossoming love affair with fellow producer, Adam
Bennett (Wilson) begins to unravel – and soon Becky is
struggling to save her relationship, her reputation, her job and
ultimately, the show itself.
