OVERVIEW: Actor-musician-filmmaker Adrian Grenier (star of the HBO® series Entourage®) turns the cameras on the paparazzi for an intimate look at celebrity culture through the eyes of a young photographer in Teenage Paparazzo. An official selection of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, the feature documentary will be out on DVD on March 29, 2011 from HBO Home Entertainment. The DVD features an exclusive bonus feature "Snap Shots" containing 30-minutes of deleted scenes.
Featuring an A-list of paparazzi magnets including Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Alec Baldwin, Whoopie Goldberg, Eva Longoria Parker, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Michelle Rodriguez, Britney Spears, Erykah Badu, Tyra Banks, Mary J. Blige, Paris Hilton, Rosie O'Donnell, Mario Lopez, Entourage co-stars Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara and others, Teenage Paparazzo examines first-hand the tenuous relationship between celebrities and the people who make a living selling their images. Also included are interviews with Visschedyk's parents who have differing perceptions of their son's "hobby" as well as insights into celebrity media from psychologists, historians, film critics, fans, bloggers, publishers and tabloid writers.
SYNOPSIS:
Well-acquainted with fans who have trouble distinguishing real life from fiction, Grenier's chance encounter with 14-year old paparazzo Austin Visschedyk finds the actor intrigued by the fast-talking and even faster-snapping teen's efforts to get the "perfect shot." Deciding to hang out with the young photographer, Grenier gets a taste for the "other side" while learning the tricks of the trade in a behind-the-scenes look at the worldwide obsession with fame and the realities and illusions of
celebritydom.
