REVIEW: THE LAST GODFATHER
8/8/11

OVERVIEW: The Mafia meets its match as Lionsgate debuts the comedy The Last Godfather on DVD, Digital Download and On Demand this summer. One of the most popular Korean comedic superstars, Hyung Rae Shim (Dragon Wars: D-War), comes to America as writer, director and star of the Mafia-spoof film and international box office hit. Academy Award® nominee Harvey Keitel (Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Bugsy, 1991) headlines the cast as the Don who foolishly tries to prepare his dim-witted son, played by Shim, to be his successor. Also starring Jason Mewes (Zack and Miri Make a Porno) and Michael Rispoli (Kick-Ass), this laugh-out loud comedy is sure to offer audiences something they can’t refuse when The Last Godfather hits DVD on August 9th
SYNOPSIS: Mob boss Don Carini (Keitel) is retiring from the Mafia business – but when he gathers the family to announce his heir, the Don surprises everyone by anointing his goofy grownup love child, Younggu (Shim), as the next godfather. With everyone gunning for the job – and his father pressuring him to succeed – will Younggu overcome his enemies and rise to become the head of the fami-lee before he winds up snoring with the fishes?
