REVIEW: TURKEY BOWL
10/15/11

Every summer Jon (Jon Schmidt) gathers ten friends together in his adopted city of Los Angeles to play the Turkey Bowl, a small-town tradition of two-hand touch football where the winning team gains bragging rights and the ultimate prize: a turkey. This “disarmingly naturalistic comedy…[with] tight-knit camaraderie” (IndieWire) examines friendships that flare and fade, jealousy that is met with both laughter and pain, and old and unrequited love (which threatens to remain old and unrequited), all through the unique, improvised rhythm of backyard football.
