OVERVIEW:
Three-time Best Actor Academy Award® nominee Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, 2004; Finding Neverland, 2005; Sweeney Todd, 2008) shines in The Rum Diary, the latest film homage to iconic author Hunter S. Thompson, which debuts on Blu-ray™ and DVD February 14th and on digital February 7th from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The all-star cast also includes Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight, Battle Los Angeles), Michael Rispoli (Kick-Ass, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3), Amber Heard (Zombieland), Academy Award® nominee Richard Jenkins (Best Actor, The Visitor, 2007), and Giovanni Ribisi (Avatar, Public Enemies) in the story of an American journalist from New York who takes on a freelance job in Puerto Rico for a local newspaper during the 1950s and struggles to find a balance between island culture and the expatriates who live there. Bonus materials include the behind-the-scenes featurette “A Voice Made of Ink and Rage: Inside The Rum Diary” and the documentary “The Rum Diary Back-Story.”
SYNOPSIS:
Based on the novel by Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary follows New York journalist Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp) on an alcohol fueled journey across the island of Puerto Rico where he finds himself caught between a shady American businessman, a beautiful woman, and several bottles of booze.

preserving its theatrical format. The picture is just
flawless. Not only the picture looks great in
this release, also the sound it is good, a 5.1 Dolby Digital
in English that provides a
good complement to the picture. It also includes
