REVIEW: THE CALL
OVERVIEW: Academy Award® winner Halle Berry (Best Actress, Monster’s Ball, 2001) stars as a veteran 911 operator who takes a life-altering call from a kidnapped teenage girl, played by Academy Award® nominee Abigail Breslin (Best Supporting Actress, Little Miss Sunshine, 2006), in THE CALL, debuting on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD with UltraViolet™ June 25th from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. When a terrified kidnap victim (Breslin) calls 911 from the trunk of a madman’s car, Jordan (Berry) realizes she must confront a killer from her past to put an end to the serial killer’s haunting rampage. THE CALL also stars Morris Chestnut (Identity Thief, Think Like A Man), Michael Imperioli (The Lovely Bones, TV’s “The Sopranos”), Michael Eklund (TV’s “Alcatraz”) and WWE star David Otunga.
The Blu-ray Combo Pack exclusively features an alternate ending, deleted and extended scenes, Michael Eklund’s Audition Tape, and two all-new featurettes taking viewers behind the scenes for set tours and stunt breakdowns. Both the Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD come with a making-of featurette, as well as commentary by Halle Berry, Abigail Breslin and filmmakers.
SYNOPSIS: In this heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat thriller, veteran 911 operator Jordan (Academy Award® Winner Halle Berry, Monster’s Ball, 2001) takes a life-altering call from a teenage girl (Academy Award® nominee Abigail Breslin, Little Miss Sunshine, 2006) who has been kidnapped and thrown into the trunk of a madman’s car. But with the clock ticking, Jordan soon realizes she must confront a killer from her past to put an end to a serial killer’s haunting rampage.
The film is
presented in widescreen in a 1.85:1 aspect ration preserving its
theatrical format. The picture is just flawless. Not only the
picture looks great in this release, also the sound it is good,
a 5.1 Dolby Digital in English that provides a good complement
