REVIEW: THE KINGS OF SUMMER
9/22/2013

OVERVIEW:Acclaimed, coming-of-age comedy THE KINGS OF SUMMER becomes available on Blu-ray™ and DVD Sept. 24 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Rising stars Nick Robinson (TV’s “Melissa & Joey”), Gabriel Basso (Super 8) and Moises Arias (TV’s “Hannah Montana”) join comedy stalwarts Nick Offerman (TV’s “Parks and Recreation”), Alison Brie (TV’s “Community”) and Megan Mullally (TV’s “Will & Grace”) in the uniquely comic tale of three teenage friends who, in the ultimate act of independence, decide to spend their summer building a house in the woods and living off the land. Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (TV’s “Funny or Die Presents”), THE KINGS OF SUMMER first summoned laughs from audiences and critics at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize.
SYNOPSIS: Three teenage friends – Joe (Robinson), Patrick (Basso) and the eccentric and unpredictable Biaggio (Arias) - decide to spend their summer building a house in the woods and living off the land. Free from their parents’ rules, their idyllic summer quickly becomes a test of friendship as each boy learns to appreciate the fact that family - whether it is the one you’re born into or the one you create – is something you can't run away from.
