“We are excited that BAD GIRL has been selected to make its international premiere at the 2016 Busan International Film Festival.” Said Gary Hamilton, Managing Director of Arclight Films. “BAD GIRL is a compelling thriller that has a unique take on the pyscho sexual genre with strong performances from both Sara and Samara.”
BAD GIRL is about 17-year-old AMY ANDERSON (West) who is a true bad girl. An adopted, only-child, just released from a juvenile detention center, her relationship with her parents is at breaking point. Whisked off to the family’s new rural compound, Amy attempts suicide, saved at the last moment by CHLOE (Weaving), the Anderson’s new and attractive housecleaner.
Seeing a role model for their troubled daughter, Amy’s parents encourage the girls’ friendship, and an initial attraction gives way to a tumultuous sexual relationship. But Amy’s world falls apart when she discovers Chloe may be the Andersons’ long-lost biological daughter, determined to oust Amy and take her rightful place in the family. It’s nature versus nurture as the girls go head-to-head in a battle over who gets to keep the family.
BAD GIRL was produced by Steve Kearney, Bruno Charlesworth and Tenille Kennedy.
Arclight Films is handling world rights on the film.
