GRANADA NIGHTS is a love letter to Granada, a journey of self-discovery and also a love story set against the backdrop of one of Spain’s most beautiful cities.
The film tells the story of Ben, a young British-Asian tourist on a surprise visit to the beguiling city of Granada, Spain to visit his girlfriend. Ben is immediately heartbroken by the end of his relationship and feeling lost and abandoned, he befriends a group of young international students and eccentric locals. He pushes himself to explore new experiences–far outside his comfort-zone–trying to restart his life, but behind every corner is a reminder of his ex and the struggle to find closure.
Granada Nights celebrates the integration and creativity of a generation that can transcend borders and forge new alliances. Shot entirely on location in the Granada (the first feature film to do so), Granada Nights captures the dizzying blend of historical Islamic and Christian architecture with scenes weaving through the city’s labyrinthine streets. Reflecting the film’s themes of cultural exploration, the soundtrack sways from Arabic ouds, flamenco guitars and English indie bass.
