Quiver Distribution will release CITIZEN VIGILANTE, the latest high‑intensity thriller from internationally recognized filmmaker Uwe Boll, on June 19, 2026, across all major digital and streaming platforms in North America. The film stars Armie Hammer and Costas Mandylor (the Saw franchise) and has already generated international controversy ahead of its debut.
The release follows Boll’s public claim that the film was effectively blocked from distribution in Germany after disputes with the FSK ratings board — a conflict that has fueled broader debate around censorship, artistic freedom, and the film’s themes of vigilantism, crime, and public outrage.
Heralded by Boll as “an action film inspired by real events, based on real cases and a commentary about injustice,” CITIZEN VIGILANTE follows a wealthy American businessman living in Europe who transforms into a notorious underground vigilante targeting violent criminals and corrupt officials. As his brutal crusade gains traction online, he becomes both a hunted fugitive and an unlikely media phenomenon.
Produced by Event Film in association with Borvel Film, the project blends large‑scale action, gritty realism, and emotionally charged storytelling — designed for fans of crime sagas, revenge thrillers, and politically charged action cinema.
SYNOPSIS
Sanders (Armie Hammer), a wealthy American living in Zagreb, has inherited a massive real‑estate empire from his late father. Intelligent, isolated, and emotionally scarred, he begins a violent campaign against criminals, rapists, and corrupt judges who have escaped meaningful punishment through the legal system.
As his vigilante actions spread across social media and news outlets, Sanders becomes both a wanted criminal and a public hero. But Interpol Chief Henry (Costas Mandylor) sees him not as a savior, but as a dangerous threat — launching an aggressive international pursuit to stop him before his influence spirals out of control.
