Movie Trailers August 19, 2026

Plan B brings its latest coming‑of‑age standout to audiences this summer with OLMO, a tender, sharply observed drama from acclaimed filmmaker Fernando Eimbcke. Set in 1979 New Mexico, the film captures the messy, funny, painful, and ultimately healing moments that shape a boy on the edge of adolescence. With its intimate storytelling and grounded performances, OLMO arrives on VOD August 25, inviting viewers into a family pushed to its limits—and a young teen discovering where he truly belongs.

SYNOPSIS

Fourteen‑year‑old Olmo and his family are struggling to make ends meet in 1979 New Mexico. His father Nestor is confined to bed by illness, leaving his mother Cecilia, his sister Ana, and even Olmo himself to shoulder the daily caretaking responsibilities.

But Olmo, caught in the throes of selfish adolescence, would much rather spend his days with his best friend Miguel or trying to impress his beautiful next‑door neighbor Nina. When Nina finally invites him to a party—on the very day he’s been left alone to care for his father—Olmo will do anything to escape his duties, setting off a chain of mischief and chaos.

In his desperate attempt to flee his home life, Olmo discovers that the place tied to his deepest pain is also where he finds solace: with his family.
