GATOR FACE Trailer Showcases Practical Effects and Real Alligators Ahead of September Release

Movie Trailers September 5, 2026

Epic Pictures and Dread have debuted the official trailer for GATOR FACE, the latest creature‑horror feature from writer/director Padraig Reynolds. Filmed in the Florida swamps and incorporating live alligators and practical effects, the film will open in select theaters on September 11 before arriving on digital platforms September 15.

The trailer introduces a sun‑drenched vacation that quickly unravels into a nightmare, blending cult horror, creature thrills, and Southern folklore into a grounded, physical style of filmmaking.

Synopsis

A group of friends travel to Florida expecting a carefree escape. Instead, they encounter a cult devoted to an alligator god, whose rituals demand human sacrifice. As the group is pulled deeper into the cult’s isolated world, they must fight to survive both the fanatics and the deadly creature at the center of their beliefs — the terrifying figure known as Gator Face.

A Return to Practical Creature Horror

Reynolds and his team leaned heavily into practical gore, in‑camera effects, and the unpredictable atmosphere of the Florida swamps. The production partnered with Bellowing Acres, a North Florida sanctuary for rescued nuisance alligators, allowing the filmmakers to incorporate real animals under professional supervision. No alligators were harmed during production.

The result is a creature feature that embraces the tactile, physical qualities of classic drive‑in horror while building its own mythology around the film’s central predator.
