Two films from director Luc Besson are arriving on 4K Ultra HD on December 8, each featuring newly added bonus content and upgraded presentations. Le Dernier Combat and The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc will be available separately, offering collectors enhanced restorations and extensive archival and new special features.
Le Dernier Combat – Synopsis
Besson’s debut feature, Le Dernier Combat, presents a stark, black‑and‑white vision of a ruined future. Civilization has collapsed, leaving survivors scattered across a hostile landscape. In this nearly wordless film, one man struggles against violence, isolation, and the remnants of a broken world. The film’s minimalist style and bleak atmosphere mark an early showcase of Besson’s distinctive approach to science fiction.
