Almost Famous : Friday September 15, 2000

Set in 1973, Cameron Crowe's latest feature captures a pivotal moment in the history of rock and roll, chronicling and celebrating a time just before the explosion of rock as a global commercial enterprise.

The story follows the funny and often poignant coming of age of 15-year-old William, an unabashed music fan who is inspired by the seminal bands of the time. When his love of music lands him an assignment from Rolling Stone magazine to interview an up-and-coming band, William embarks on an eye-opening journey with the band's tour over the objections of his protective mother. As he becomes less an observer and more a participant in the band's dynamics, the fledgling reporter loses the objectivity to tell his story honestly, and learns a life-changing lesson about the importance of family -- the ones we inherit, and the ones we create. -- © Dreamworks SKG

Score ="100"
"An excellent, natural, feelgood movie that also makes you think a bit. The cast are tremendous, esp Kate Hudson, Frances McDormand and Patrick Fugit. A great mix of humour, observational scenes and a lovely central story.

"I don't know if any movie can rate a 100 like Eberet gives it, but it's definitely a 90!! Absolutely one of the best films I've seen this year. Billy Crudup and Kate Hudson are both great!
