The year is 1977, Cinemarcos is but a youngster and wondering what the heck is this Star Wars thing. It was the gamble that broke the house, the sci-fi experience unlike any other (especially at that time), the story that transcends and stole the hearts of moviegoers around the globe, the franchise that has spanned 42 years and very few can make that claim. Having grown up with, matured with, and grown old with this wonderful series it breaks my heart to hear haters that just seem to enjoy hating. Sure these Star Wars movies have flaws, and I would argue that they all do, that they are far from perfect, that they have cringe worthy moments, that they can be dissected and criticized, but I for one am happy that they are still being made. I would rather live in this world where this is the case, than in a world where Star Wars ended with Episode VI. Like a diehard sports fan whose team hasn’t won anything in decades but they religiously attend every game because that’s their team through thick and thin, that’s how I feel about Star Wars. I’m going to love them no matter what. Let’s use another example, art. Ever heard the expression, beauty is in the eye of the beholder? You can substitute beauty for art, music, movies, etc. What someone considers to be great art, music, or a movie might contradict what others feel. You can easily find someone that will disagree with even a vast majority of people that might find an art form to be beautiful. In other words, it is extremely hard to get everybody to like something no matter what it is. Some people’s garbage is another’s treasure. Okay, okay, enough. Why am I on this rant you ask? Like I said, haters gonna hate and lovers gonna love. It is up to you really. I love the Star Wars films, all of them because I am a fan and have been for the majority of my life. I can actually understand why some haters are gonna hate, and again, it breaks my heart, but I’m still going to love and support it, like a diehard fan, because this is a big part of my cinematic life and it has a special place in my heart. If you were at least okay with the Star Wars movies up to now, then I can almost guarantee you will enjoy this one. It has it all. It’s intense, non-stop action, full of emotion, twists, revelations, despair, conflict, special effects, amazing cinematography, the best soundtrack, an epic climax, and most importantly, hope. I really don’t know what else to say. It is what it is. It is a fitting conclusion to the most epic movie series of a generation. It is the ending that Star Wars deserves. With J.J. Abrams back at the helm, he just dropped the mic. We can only hope that this isn’t the end. Fans, may the force be with you, always.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, yeah, Kylo knows who Rey is as mentioned in that first quote, and yeah this is her fight as mentioned in the quote above, so yeah, who is Rey? This has been my number one question for the last few years and I can say that I’m okay with the answer. There is poetic justice to it.
