The thriller is directed by  Zack Snyder, starring   Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Russell Crowe. <\/p>\n<p>Man of Steel hits theaters June 14, 2013<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/T6DJcgm3wNY\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures comes \u201cMan of Steel,\u201d starring Henry Cavill (\u201cImmortals,\u201d TV\u2019s \u201cThe Tudors\u201d) in the role of Clark Kent\/Superman, under the direction of Zack Snyder (\u201c300,\u201d \u201cWatchmen\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth.  As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do.  But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.<\/p>\n<p>The film also stars four-time Oscar\u00ae nominee Amy Adams (\u201cThe Master\u201d) as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, and Oscar\u00ae nominee Laurence Fishburne (\u201cWhat\u2019s Love Got to Do with It\u201d) as her editor-in-chief, Perry White.  Starring as Clark Kent\u2019s adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, are Oscar\u00ae nominee Diane Lane (\u201cUnfaithful\u201d) and Academy Award\u00ae winner Kevin Costner (\u201cDances with Wolves\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>Squaring off against the superhero are two other surviving Kryptonians, the villainous General Zod, played by Oscar\u00ae nominee Michael Shannon (\u201cRevolutionary Road\u201d), and Faora, Zod\u2019s evil partner, played by Antje Traue (upcoming \u201cThe Seventh Son\u201d).  Also from Superman\u2019s native Krypton are Lara Lor-Van, Superman\u2019s mother, played by Ayelet Zurer (\u201cAngels and Demons\u201d), and Superman\u2019s father, Jor-El, portrayed by Academy Award\u00ae winner Russell Crowe (\u201cGladiator\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the cast are Christopher Meloni (upcoming \u201c42\u201d) as U.S. military man Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix (\u201cState of Play\u201d) as General Swanwick, Michael Kelly (\u201cThe Adjustment Bureau\u201d) as Steve Lombard, and Richard Schiff (TV\u2019s \u201cThe West Wing\u201d) as Dr. Emil Hamilton.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMan of Steel\u201d is being produced by Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder.  The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer &#038; Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel &#038; Joe Shuster and published by DC Entertainment.  Thomas Tull, Lloyd Phillips and Jon Peters are serving as executive producers.<\/p>\n<p>Zack Snyder\u2019s behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Amir Mokri (\u201cTransformers: Dark of the Moon\u201d); production designer Alex McDowell (\u201cWatchmen\u201d); editor David Brenner (\u201cPirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides\u201d); and multiple Academy Award\u00ae-winning costume designer James Acheson (\u201cRestoration,\u201d the \u201cSpider-Man\u201d films) and costume designer Michael Wilkinson (\u201cThe Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn \u2013 Part 1 and 2,\u201d \u201cWatchmen,\u201d \u201c300\u201d).
