3/29/2015
OVERVIEW:
Academy Award® winner Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby,” “Dolphin Tale”) narrates the 3D documentary originally shown exclusively in IMAX® Theatres “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar,” arriving onto Blu-ray Combo Pack and Digital HD on March 31 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” is the incredible true story of nature’s greatest explorers – lemurs.
“Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” reunites Morgan Freeman with writer/producer Drew Fellman, who also wrote and produced the 2011 IMAX 3D documentary “Born to Be Wild,” and director/cinematographer David Douglas, who was the director of photography on that film.
“Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack and includes the film in high definition on Blu-ray disc, a DVD, and a digital version of the movie in Digital HD with UltraViolet. Fans can also own “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” via purchase from digital retailers.
SYNOPSIS: Captured with IMAX 3D cameras, “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” takes audiences on a spectacular journey to the remote and wondrous world of Madagascar, where lemurs arrived millions of years ago as castaways. They’ve since evolved into hundreds of diverse species, but are now highly endangered.
“Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” highlights the tireless efforts of trailblazing scientist Dr. Patricia C. Wright and her lifelong mission to help these strange and adorable creatures survive in the modern world. Joining David Douglas once again behind the scenes are editor Beth Spiegel, co-producer Diane Roberts, and composer Mark Mothersbaugh. Songs are by Hanitrarivo Rasoanaivo & Tarika.
