REVIEW: THE MATRIX
10th Anniversary

04/09/09

SYNOPSIS: The Matrix
follows the trials of Neo (Keanu Reeves), a young computer
programmer, searching to determine the deepest reality of a
post-Apocalyptic world. His journey uncovers a web of deceit
and massive computer-generated illusions obscuring the
truth. As Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne) says to Neo, “No one
can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for
yourself.” The same is true for this mind-blowing movie
which was a worldwide box-office sensation when it debuted
in 1999.
REVIEW: In the world
of movie making, there are movies that break new grounds in
the industry and become a cult of a generation. This is the
case of "The Matrix", a film that many considered risky,
however some of these risky moves end up paying big
dividends. Two brothers with an original idea that without a
doubt changed the world of movie making. To celebrate the
10th anniversary of this masterpiece, Warner Bros Home Entertainment is releasing for the
first time in a single Blu-ray disc "The Matrix", which
previously was only available as a part of a collection.
The groundbreaking film in this Blu-ray disc is presented in
full 1080P widescreen format (2.40:1 aspect ratio)
with a Dolby True HD English 5.1 it also includes Francais,
Español, Italian and Portugues language tracks, as well as
it respective subtitles. The film looks beautifully in HD,
it is just perfect. The dark colors look vivid and rich
capturing the masterful special effects, like they were mean
to be watched. I found the TrueHD sound acceptable, however
I think that this film deserves a full 7.1 sound.
The film will be released
as The Matrix 10th Anniversary Blu-ray™ Book, packaged in a
collectible bonus book that includes 37 pages of insightful
essays, trivia and photos. Previously only available as part
of a collection, this new edition of The Matrix includes the
In-Movie Experience and a digital copy for use with Windows
Media and iTunes. Also includes all the special features
from previous DVD releases of the film.
