The director of The Mummy and The Mummy

available on Blu-ray Hi-Def for the first time September 15
from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. A

power of Hugh Jackman (X-Men) and Kate Beckinsale
(Underworld), Van Helsing tells a tale of the legendary
monster hunter Van Helsing (Jackman), who must rely on the
help of the beautiful and mysterious Anna Valeris (Beckinsale)
as he engages in an epic battle with the ultimate forces of
darkness – Dracula, the Wolf Man and Frankenstein’s monster!

SYNOPSIS: Legendary
monster hunter Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman) is summoned to
mysterious Transylvania on a mission that will thrust him
into a sweeping battle against the forces of darkness! With
non-stop action and electrifying special effects, Van
Helsing is an adrenaline-powered motion picture event Roger
Ebert calls "Spectacular!"
BLU-RAY: The film is
presented in 1080P widescreen with a 1.85:1 aspect ratio preserving
the film's theatrical
format. It seems to be the same cut use in previous DVD
releases, however
the picture is just flawless, giving the film the clarity that
only high definition can provide. Universal Home
Entertainment has done it again with this transfer. Not only the picture looks
excellent in this release, also the sound it is good, a 5.1
Dolby DTS-HD in English that provides a nice complement to the
picture. It also includes 5.1 Dolby Digital language tracks
in Spanish and French, as well as subtitles in Spanish and
French.
In terms of Special Features,
the Blu-ray Disc includes basically the DVD's original
featurettes. The disappointing part is that none of the
special features are in HD. The only new features are
U-Control BD Live.
This is a blu-ray for fans
only, if you are not a fan and haven't seen the movie this
is a good rental, but online for the film's special effects
they just look awesome in High Definition.
