Chill Factor

Chill Factor: Wednesday, September 1, 1999

From first time director, Hugh Johnson, comes the movie being called Speed on an ice cream truck. Chill Factor stars Cuba Gooding Jr. and Skeet Ulrich in a buddy movie similar to Lethal Weapon/Bad boys. The two join forces, against their will of course, to keep a biological weapon below 50 degrees. That's where the ice cream truck comes in. You see, if the temperature raises just one degree, it's kaboom! According to the buzz this movie is generating lets hope that the ice cream truck's cooling unit breaks down minutes into the flick. What makes a movie like Chill Factor, is the chemistry between the buddies as they struggle from not liking each other to liking each other to the point where it is almost weird. That is exactly what is missing here. The lack of chemistry ruins the movie. Bad boys had it. Lethal Weapon defiantly had it! But, since there has been a lack of action movies lately, which Universal Solider II did not relive, this movie might have a chance of pleasing those audiences dying for an action adventure movie similar to but not as good as Speed.

The People's Review of Chill Factor

Kane:

Score = 20

This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I want to know who is responsible for this. I want his head! Let me tell you, that film-o-meter thingy is right; this movie is "not worth seeing."

I thought the movie was really cool.  Sure, at times it was a little unbelievable, but it was exciting and fun-two things that alot of movies today lack.  Sometimes i'm not looking for a work of art; sometimes i just want a good time and a good movie...and i though Chill Factor did that for me

I thought Chill Factor was highly decent for an action flick.  I liked how it had a little comedy here and there and you can't go wrong with the actors.

I thought Chill Factor was a Worth Seeing movie...and is not comparable to Speed except for the # 50 and a few bad lines and jokes.  The action was way better, so was the acting (but hey, Keanu Reeves is one of the worst actors Ive ever seen), and it wasnt as predictable.  The whole movie does not take place on an ice cream truck, unlike most of Speed was on the bus.  The movie provided a fair amount of laughs as well in the pairing of Skeet Ulrich and Cuba Gooding Jr.  I remember how high of ratings Speed got...I give that a 5, thats only being nice cause Sandra Bullock starred in it.  The Chill Factor was by far more interesting and Id say just covers the full ticket price admission.

This week's Hollywood offering at the movies
is the buddy action flick, "The Chill Factor"
starring Skeet Ulrich and Cuba Gooding Jr. This
flick should have never gotten made. It is so
bad that nothing seems to work. The action
sequences are bland. The acting is so bad that
it makes the acting in the MOd Squad seem
Oscar worthy for Bad Movies of the year!!!

the movie was good except when the car blew up and those two baddies lived.Because 1)there was 2 hotties, 2)it had a good story 3)lots of non-stop action 4)the guy was really loyal to his friend.
