REVIEW: A DAY IN THE LIFE

Written, directed and
starring hip-hop legend Sticky Fingaz (from the band Onyx),
A Day In The Life is a hip-hop action-thriller about one man
who is struggling to leave the street life behind but is
caught between a war involving two crime families. Along
with Fingaz, the film features an all-star cast including
Mekhi Phifer (TV’s “ER”), Michael Rapaport (TV’s “Prison
Break”), and Faizon Love (Idlewild). Available July 7, 2009,
the DVD contains special features including a music video by
Sticky Fingaz and a “Making Of” featurette.
A Day in the Life takes the audience on a wild journey
through one day of an intense street war between two rival
crime families. Stick’s clan is the underdog of the two
families that is pushed into the war by Black who is the
head of the more powerful crime family. Black’s family draws
first blood by raiding one of Stick’s drug houses and
killing two of his men. From that point on, Stick struggles
with the moral dilemma of either calling off his life of
crime or seeking revenge and continuing the ongoing feud.
Stick’s decision becomes even more complicated when his
girlfriend breaks the news that she’s pregnant. The word is
out that Black has put a contract out on Stick’s life and on
top of all his problems, two detectives are now hot on his
trail. Stick decides to flee the country with his girlfriend
but before boarding the plane, a vicious gun battle ensues
and no one knows who will remain standing when the smoke
clears.
