BE MY VALENTINE CHARLIE BROWN
(RE-MASTERED DELUXE EDITION)

01/22/08

Who doesn't know or doesn't
recognize the Peanuts Clan created by Charles M. Schulz back in
the 1950's. For years Charlie Brown, Snoopy and
the rest of the clan have become a major part of people's
way of expressing themselves. At some point or another
you have either given or
received a greeting card with a personal message delivered by
one of the characters from the Peanuts gang. Now just in
time for Valentine's Day, Warner Home Video is releasing the newly
re-mastered seasonal animated television special "Be My
Valentine, Charlie Brown". The deluxe edition DVD will be
release on January 15, 2008.
Having made its original television debut in 1975, Be My
Valentine, Charlie Brown, which stars the lovable Peanuts
clan, focuses on the gang’s preparations for the upcoming
Valentine’s Day holiday. Everyone has high hopes of having
their dreams of love and friendship fulfilled. Charlie Brown
wants to get a Valentine from anyone and patiently waits by
his mailbox. Linus is on a mission to find a perfect
Valentine’s gift for his favorite teacher, Miss Othmar. Lucy
wants Schroeder to finally notice her. Will they be
satisfied to their heart’s content or are they headed for
heartbreak?
Since the 1950’s Peanuts is one of the most beloved comic
strips in the world. Originally written and illustrated by
Charles M. Schulz, the strip ran from 1950 until Schulz’s
death in 2000. The comic focused on a lovable crew of
characters including Charlie Brown, Lucy Van Pelt, Charlie’s
pet beagle, Snoopy, and his side-kick Woodstock, as well as
several other characters, which were the focus of funny,
poignant stories of childhood for every season. Peanuts’
tremendous success in print led to the comic strip’s
transition to its animated form, which was brought to life
by producers Lee Mendelson and Bill Melendez. The highly
popular television specials entertained generations of
children and adults alike with their funny and poignant
explorations of seasonal holidays and rites of passage that
continue to air on television to this day. At this time, the
Peanuts franchise has over 900 licensees worldwide.
The beauty of this franchise is that no matter how old or
how young you are these seasonal episodes are becoming a
tradition among families, providing a good and fun
entertainment for people of all ages. Warner Home Video did
an excellent job in this re-mastered deluxe edition.
Providing a better look and feel than previous
presentations. The DVD includes a nice bonus featurette
called Unlucky in Love which talks about the love lives of
the Peanuts characters. It also includes two extra episodes
"You’re in Love, Charlie Brown" and "It’s Your First Kiss".
Overall the DVD is well presented and it is a nice addition
to the Peanuts collection. Fans and non fans will totally enjoy
this deluxe edition DVD.
