sexy and captivating thriller from Spain, is now available
on DVD for the first time in the U.S. A Golden Berlin Bear
Award nominee at the 1996 Berlin International Film
Festival, Éxtasis was praised by Variety as having a
“teasing plot, intense characters, a solid cast and brisk
pacing … with Javier Bardem exuding rancid charm.” Rober (Bardem),
a reckless 25-year old, concocts an outrageous scheme with
friend Max and girlfriend Lola to rob their families and
flee their hometown. When Max is arrested during one of the
robberies, Rober impersonates him and successfully dupes
Max’s estranged wealthy father into giving them bail money.
However, the trio’s plan goes awry when Rober refuses to
give up his luxurious new life, putting them all at risk.
