OVERVIEW: On
June 9th
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing the
comedy Fired Up on DVD Fired Up! was directed by Will
Gluck and stars Nicholas D’Agosto (TV’s “Heroes”), Eric
Christian Olsen (TV’s “Brothers & Sisters”), Sarah Roemer (Disturbia)
and Molly Sims (TV’s “Las Vegas”).
SYNOPSIS: In this
laugh-out-loud comedy, Ford High’ s star football players
Shawn Colfax and Nick Brady scheme to ditch football camp so
they can spend the summer surrounded by beautiful girls…at
cheer camp. The guys are having the time of their lives as
they use their new reputation as “sensitive guys” to talk
the hotties into skinny dipping, cheering naked, and hooking
up. But when Shawn falls for the gorgeous head cheerleader
who’ s suspicious of their motives, the players must change
their game to prove Shawn’ s intentions before the thrilling
cheer competition finals.
DVD: Fired Up is presented in
a widescreen format with a 2.40:1 aspect ration,
preserving its original theatrical released format. The
transfer looks clean without color saturation. The picture is
complemented with an English 5.1 Dolby digital sound
and French Dolby Surround, with Spanish and French subtitles.
In terms of special
features the DVD includes an insider commentary from the
Director Will Gluck and stars Nick D’Agosto (TV’s “Heroes”)
and Eric Christian Olsen (TV’s “Brothers & Sisters”); a
behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the film in two
featurettes: “This is Not a Cheerleading Movie: The Making
of Fired Up” and “Double Duty”; plus a Gag Reel.
Overall this a comedy in
the tradition of Porky's and American Pie that manage to
deliver decent laughs, making this film an acceptable DVD
rental.
