REVIEW:
HEROES
Season 2
08/25/08
In this 2nd Season of the
fantastic cult hit “Heroes” the saga continues with our
heroes Peter and Nathan Patrelli, Hiro, our favorite
cheerleader Claire, and of course the evil super villain
Syler, but we also meet some new heroes, and villains, with
some very interesting story lines and abilities, some seen
before, and some very new indeed, but all very intriguing .
This is one series that you’ll be wanting to watch with no
distractions, no interruptions, and no commercials, so I
would definitely recommend this box set. This is definitely
one of my favorite TV series of all time, and I can’t wait
for the new season to begin, and now that I’ve updated
myself with the 2nd season, I am more than ready
for season premiere. Whether its your first time watching
the series, or you just want to get a refresher for the
premiere like me, this box set is the best and most complete
way to watch the series and with all the bonus features and
deleted scenes, it will quickly make you a fan and follower
of this phenomenal series.
In this series, we catch up with our
heroes and villains 4 months after the heroes save the
world. We catch up with Peter Petrelli who now has amnesia
and has no idea who he is or what has happened, and he
begins to realize what he can do. Our favorite cheerleader
Claire is now hiding after changing her name and moving to a
different city and school , all to protect her family and
herself from The Company, who after learning of her
abilities in Season one, would love nothing more than to
exploit her and examine her. She has to hide her
extraordinary abilities by being very average and normal, so
as not to attract attention, meanwhile she begins to
experiment with her abilities in secret. Hiro now finds
himself in the past with his hero Takezo Kensei, learning
that the stories he always heard about him are less than
truthful, but determined to make him the hero he’s always
heard about in his fathers stories, he begins to shadow him
and help him accomplish his deeds whenever possible, so that
the past may be preserved, and finds that Takezo Kensei has
abilities of his own. Syler, our villian finds himself in
the middle of nowhere, recovering from the sword wound he
obtained in the season one finale, and having no abilities,
begins a bloody quest in attempt to recover what he has
lost, leaving many dead along the way , true to his
villainous nature. there are also new heros such as West,
Claires new love interest who’s ability is flying and
ironically detests the man with the horned rimed glasses,
who kidnapped him long ago and of course is Claires father.
We also meet Maya and Alejandro, siblings who meet Sylar
along their quest to find Dr. Suresh, and find their fates
intertwined with his, not knowing how evil he is. Maya
brings death with her tears, while only her brother can
absorb her anger and undo the death she brings about, but
she feels a kinship with Sylar because of her ability, not
realizing that he brings death for enjoyment while she does
it with no malice, she just has no control. We also catch up
with Micah, and meet his cousin who has copycat abilities
where she can mimic actions just by watching them. WE meet
all kinds of new heroes and villains along with seeing our
old favorites fates unfold and their abilities begin to
develop even further, but there is a virus that threatens
both our beloved heroes and villains alike, first it takes
their abilities then their live, and it first targets only
the ones with the abilities, but they soon find out that a
mutation of the virus will wipe out most of the worlds
population if they don’t stop it. Can the heroes find out in
time how to stop the virus or are they facing another end of
the world scenario once again?
You should definitely add this box
set to your collection and find out if our Heroes can save
the world once again. You’ll love the way the characters
develops, how there is good and bad in each of our heroes,
how they learn to control and appreciate their abilities.
You really begin to root for the heroes and become absorbed
in their trial and tribulations, their joys, and triumphs as
well as their tears and failures. You’ll laugh and cry with
them, but ultimately you will become a fan in the truest
sense of the word.. I know I am, and you know exactly where
you can find me on Sept 22.
