REVIEW: JENNIFER'S BODY
12/27/09
OVERVIEW:
In every school there’s one girl, every girl wants to be friends with…and every guy would die for. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment presents a “student body” with a ferocious bite when Jennifer’s Body arrives on unrated Blu-ray Disc (BD) and DVD December 29. Sexy temptress Megan Fox (Transformers) is hotter than hell as Jennifer, a gorgeous, seductive cheerleader who takes evil to a whole new level after she’s possessed by a sinister demon. Steamy action and gore galore ensue as the male student body succumbs to Jennifer's insatiable appetite for human flesh. Now it’s up to her best friend (Amanda Seyfried; Mamma Mia!) to stop the demonic diva’s reign of terror before it's too late!
SYNOPSIS: A sexy horror film with a wicked sense of
humor, JENNIFER'S BODY is about small town high school
student Jennifer (Megan Fox), who is possessed by a hungry
demon. She transitions from being "high school evil" -
gorgeous (and doesn't she know it), stuck up and
ultra-attitudinal - to the real deal: evil/evil. The
glittering beauty becomes a pale and sickly creature
jonesing for a meaty snack, and guys who never stood a
chance with the heartless babe, take on new luster in the
light of Jennifer's insatiable appetite. Meanwhile,
Jennifer's lifelong best friend Needy (Amanda Seyfried),
long relegated to living in Jennifer's shadow, must step-up
to protect the town's young men, including her nerdy
boyfriend Chip (Johnny Simmons).
REVIEW: I am going to make this movie review sweet and to the point. Jennifer's Body is a horror flick that has a plot written by an eighth grader. Though, then again, that falls in line with most other horror flicks that have been making their way to the big screen. To be honest, the fact that most "scary movies" have been so "whack!" as of late is the only reason why I give this movie 2 stars. Maybe I'm just giving Fox, Transformer girl, the benefit of the doubt. I guess her in skimpy outfits may also warrant guys out there to give it a higher rating. Anyways, why is this a horror movie? Where I'm from, a girl riping a bunch of guys' hearts out to look pretty is just the normal thing to do. Why would I voluntarily put myself through that torture....again? As I sat through the screening, I couldn't wait for this freakin movie to end so that I can go back to enjoying life. At least until the next girl comes around riping my insides out. As for Jennifer, I don't think her body is worth putting up with 100+ minutes of torture.
