REVIEW: MY WIFE & KIDS Season One
02/22/09

The first season of the hit
family comedy series “My Wife and Kids” is now available for
the first time on DVD this February from Lionsgate. Starring
four-time Emmy® nominee Damon Wayans (TV’s “In Living
Color”) and Tisha Campbell-Martin (TV’s “Rita Rocks”) as a
loving couple with a crazy family, the widely popular series
won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Television New
Comedy Series in 2002. The show had a successful four season
run after its March 28, 2001 debut on ABC, and it is
currently airing in syndication on ABC Family. My Wife and
Kids: Season One is a 2-disc DVD set that contains all 12
episodes from the first season.
In this upbeat family comedy, Michael Kyle (Wayans) is a
self-made entrepreneur who dreams of a simple, traditional
life in Connecticut. However, that dream is pushed further
and further from reach by his wife Janet (Campbell-Martin)
and their three kids – Michael aka “Junior” (George O. Gore,
II, TV’s “New York Undercover”), Claire (Jennifer Freeman,
Mercy Street) and Kady (Parker McKenna Posey, Alice Upside
Down). Michael and Janet do their best to keep their sanity
through one family crisis after another. However, through
all the problems and distractions, the Kyles manage to put
family first and teach their kids meaningful life lessons.
