Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

11/30/09

OVERVIEW: When the lights go off the battle is on! A delightful adventure, Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian arrives in a Blu-ray Disc/DVD Combo Pack (Blu-ray, DVD and a Digital Copy*) and for a limited time only a “Monkey Mischief” double DVD on December 1 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
SYNOPSIS: History is larger than life — and twice as funny — in this monumental comedy sequel. Ben Stiller (Meet The Parents, There’s Something About Mary) stars as Larry Daley, a former night watchman at the Museum of Natural History, where the exhibits come alive after dark. But now Larry’s nocturnal friends are being retired to the archives of the Smithsonian Institution, luring him back for a hilarious, all-out battle against a cranky Egyptian Pharaoh who plans to take over the museum... and the world! From returning director Shawn Levy (Cheaper By The Dozen), the film also stars Amy Adams (Enchanted), Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting), Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers), Hank Azaria (“The Simpsons”), Ricky Gervais (“The Office”), Steve Coogan (Tropic Thunder) and Jonah Hill (Super Bad).
REVIEW: Believe it
or not the original "Night at the Museum" was able to
collect $250 millions at the box office. By looking at this
number, it is obvious that the driving force behind a sequel was
money. At first it was hard for me to believe that a sequel was
in the works, but like that old saying " Money Talks".
So here we are, 20th Century Fox is releasing "Night at the
Museum Battle of the Smithsonian" on DVD and Blu-ray with
the hope of making noise this Holiday Season.
After falling to sleep twice
while watching the first chapter of this series, I adventured
myself into the second film without any expectations. I don't
know if I was in a good mood, but I found myself enjoying this
sequel more that the original. I was expecting to see a film
similar or worst than the first one, yet the silly dumb humor
that made the first one good according to many was pleasant
this time around. I found the performance engaging Bill
Hader and Hank
Azaria providing some of that silly humor in the film
which was enough to recommend the film. Amy
Adams as Amelia Earnhart continued to display her
versatility as an actress capable of adapting to any role. And
Ben Stiller continue with its typical goosy character.
Overall Night
at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian delivers a good entertainment
for the whole family.
