PETER
PAN IN RETURN TO NEVER LAND
11/25/07
SYNOPSIS:
Wendy is all grown up with a
daughter of her own, but Jane is a practical girl who has no
use for her mother’s fanciful tales of pirates and flying
boys. When Captain Hook whisks her off to Never Land to get
Peter Pan to return his treasure, she finds herself the
first Lost Girl ever. Without some “faith, trust and pixie
dust,” Jane won’t be able to find her way home and Tinker
Bell’s glow might fade forever! Peter, Tink, Jane and Hook
are joined by the Lost Boys and some surprising new
characters in an enchanting Pixie-Powered adventure.
REVIEW:
Disney has been able to
market successfully sequels for many of its movie classics.
This time around and for a limited time Disney is releasing
"Peter Pan in Return To Never Land" which they are calling
the "Pixie Powered Edition" the sequel to the classic 1953
film "Peter Pan". With a release date of November 27, 2007.
The plot of this sequel is
unique in the sense that it happen years later and Wendy is
no longer the main character of the story. Unlike Cinderella
II or The Lion King 1 1/2 and 2 which can be considered real
sequels. The film has enough entertainment but it doesn't
provide anything new pushing the
rating of the film down a little bit. However the film has
most of the elements that Disney has us accustomed to in their
films, nice songs and beautiful animation.
Overall the film is a nice
addition to the Disney collection, kids and parents will
have a nice time together watching this film.
The disappointment with the DVD is with the bonus features
which are very slim in this "Pixie-Powered Edition". It
includes two deleted scenes with and introduction from
producers Chris Chase and Sharon Morrill. However, the only good
feature is the "Tinker Bell's Challenge Game" which is
a nice game for the little ones..
