SAVING SARAH CAIN

01/08/08

SYNOPSIS: When
successful, self-absorbed Sarah Cain (Lisa Pepper) travels
to Amish country to attend her sister’s funeral, she
discovers that she is now the legal guardian to her five
Amish nieces and nephews! Faced not only with instant
motherhood, but also with the culture shock of a lifetime,
she must decide whether to raise the children in the city or
return them to their Amish roots.
REVIEW:
Once again the well known
producers Brian Bird and Michael Landon, Jr, brings us a
heartwarming movie based on The New York Times best selling
novelist Beverly Lewis. "Saving Sarah Cain" is a movie that
dares to take a closer look at the Amish community's faith,
and values and reveals their sensitivity to the "outside
world". The screenplay by Brian Bird and Cindy Kelley is
exceptional with humor, sensitivity, and a profound message
through the sad story of five orphan children and their self
absorbed aunt, Sarah Cain. While the ending is controversial
the entire movie is powerful family entertainment.
The performances by Academy
award nominees Elliott Gould and Tess Harper are as
predictable, outstanding. However, Lisa Pepper's theatrical
talents as Sarah Cain shines throughout this film as she
transfers all the emotions of her character to the audience.
As always, Believe Pictures and Redemption films continue to
bring through their movies a message of hope and faith, a
trademark for this franchise.
