REVIEW: SCHWARZENEGGER COLLECTION
05/08/09
There is only
one name that has been synonymous with action and adventure
for over three decades – Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now, for the
first time, four of his most explosive films are available
together in the Arnold Schwarzenegger DVD Collection from
Lionsgate. This DVD set includes Terminator 2: Judgment Day,
Total Recall, The Running Man and Red Heat. The Arnold
Schwarzenegger DVD Collection will be available on May 19, 2009, day and date with
the release of Terminator 2: Skynet Edition and The Running
Man, both newly available on Blu-ray Disc, as well as
coinciding with the theatrical release of Terminator:
Salvation.
TERMINATOR 2 JUDGMENT DAY SYNOPSIS:
Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as The Terminator in this
explosive action-adventure spectacle. Now he’s one of the
good guys, sent back in time to protect John Connor, the boy
destined to lead the freedom fighters of the future. Linda
Hamilton reprises her role as Sarah Connor, John's mother, a
quintessential survivor who has been institutionalized for
her warning of the nuclear holocaust she knows is
inevitable. Together, the threesome must find a way to stop
the most lethal Terminator (Robert Patrick) ever created.
This visual tour de force is also a touching human story of
survival.
TOTAL RECALL SYNOPSIS:
Schwarzenegger is perfectly cast as Quaid, a 2084
construction worker haunted by dreams of Mars in this
crowd-pleasing science fiction spectacle. Against the wishes
of his sexy blonde wife (Sharon Stone), Quaid goes to Rekall,
a company that implants artificial memories, so he can
“remember” visiting the red planet that is now being settled
by human inhabitants. However, Quaid is actually an amnesiac
secret agent from Mars - or is he?
THE RUNNING MAN SYNOPSIS:
The year is
2019. Television is now ruling people’s lives. The most
popular reality show is called “The Running Man” featuring
convicts who compete to defeat murderous henchmen known as
“stalkers” to win pardon. The next contestant on the show is
Ben Richards (Schwarzenegger), a prisoner wrongly convicted
of murdering hundreds. When Ben faces off against four of
the most brutal stalkers, he begins the fight of his life –
and leaves the entire country glued to their television
sets.
RED
HEAT SYNOPSIS:
Red Heat
stars Schwarzenegger as Captain Ivan Danko, a highly
disciplined Russian detective. When Ivan’s pursuit of
Russia’s deadliest drug smuggler leads him to the United
States, he must seek the help of undisciplined Chicago
Detective Art Ridzik (James Belushi). Can this mismatched
pair come together to find their suspect? Packed with humor
and thrills, this nonstop action adventure delivers plenty
of heat.
