SMALLVILLE
(Season 6)
09/24/07
SYPNOSIS: They tried to
be friends. But their chosen paths set them on a collision
course. The Clark Kent (Tom Welling)/Lex Luthor (Michael
Rosenbaum) rivalry explodes into the fierce Good vs. Evil
battle fans have long expected in Season 6 of the
spectacular series that reinterprets the characters and
events of the Superman mythology from its core. Adding to
the rivalry: Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) becomes Mrs. Luthor.
Clark would be stunned to find out why she says yes. But
that’s not all that’s stunning. The Green Arrow aka Oliver
Queen (Justin Hartley) forms a super hero “league” with
Flash, Cyborg, and Aqua Man. Will Clark join too? Also in
the mix a group of escapees from the Phantom Zone menace
Earth, LuthorCorp expands its dark experiments. Will an all
powerful Kryptonite-powered army be the result?
SEASON REVIEW: It is
hard to believe that Smallville is going on to it's seven
season. The series that by far has been the best on the life
of one of the most popular superheroes, Superman.
After a little bump in season 5, Smallville went back to its
original formula in season 6. Formula that made the
series popular among Superman fans and none fans. What sets
this show apart from the others is the ability of the
writers to create a different story for every single
episode, while maintaining interesting backdrop stories on Clark
Kent's origins and how he would become Superman . Season 6 was
an excellent proof of that ability, a season full of new
discoveries, super heroes, revenge and confrontations that
took the series back to the top.
Season 6 picks up the story after the exceptional season 5
finally in which captain Zod escaped The Phantom Zone and
left Clark trap in it. The first episode of the season,
brings a lot of nostalgia specially for the Superman fans
that enjoyed the original Superman 2 movie. Film in which
one of the Krypton’s most dangerous criminals comes to
conquest earth. Another nice addition this season was
the presentation of the Super Hero League leaded by
Green Arrow, who makes several appearances to give Clark a
hand. Sometimes even the man of steel needs a little
help. Finally the good and evil confrontation between Clark
and Lex explodes in this season, given the series the most
anticipated change of events since the beginning of the
series.
Overall this season is another
proof of why Smallville is one of the most popular shows in
television for young adults as well a Superman fans.
