SEASON REVIEW: It is
hard to believe that Smallville is going on to it's eighth
season. The series that by far has been the best on the life
of one of the most popular superheroes, Superman. Warner
Bros Home Entertainment will be release the season 7 on
September 9,2008, just in time for season 8th.
After a successfully reviving
the series in season 6th, Smallville continued with its
original formula in season 7th, creating one of the most
explosive season in the series history. Formula that made the
series popular among Superman fans and none fans. What sets
season 7th apart from the others is the ability of the
writers to create a different story for every single
episode, while maintaining interesting backdrop stories on Clark
Kent's origins and how he would become Superman . Season 7th was
an excellent proof of that ability, a season full of new
discoveries, super heroes, family history, deception, revenge and confrontations that
took the series back to the top.
Season 7 picks up the story after the exceptional season 6
finally in which Clark was facing Bizarro and Lana was
trying to seek revenge from Lex. It is in season opening
were we get to see for the first time, Clark's cousin Kara
played by the beautiful Laura Vandervoort, but is in
following episodes where we found that she is actually
Supergirl. Green Arrow makes a couple of appearances in this
season as well as Brainiac which played a key role in the
events that lead to the surprising season finally. The
confrontation between Lex and Clark escalated to point of no
return in antagonism, setting the paths to 2 different
destines.
One of the things that caught
me by surprise in this season was what happened to Lionel
Luther, I just didn't see that coming. One thing is for sure
this series is maturing and season 7th was by far the
darkest season of all. No more high school stories about
meteor shower freaks, just pure business from the bad guys.
Overall this is one of the
most absorbing season, since the first season. and continue
to
proof why Smallville is one of the most popular shows in
television for young adults as well a Superman fans. Season
7th is one of those season that makes you addicted to the
show again. The season finally has to be one of the best
season finally in the series history. The good thing is that
season 8th is just around the corner.
