SNOW BUDDIES

02/05/08

SYNOPSIS:
An unauthorized detour onto an
ice cream truck lands the five Buddies on the next plane to
Alaska in this all new adventure! Stranded in the
small Arctic town of Ferntiuktuk, the pups are befriended by
Shasta, a husky pup, and his owner, a young boy named Adam.
The boy has big dreams of becoming a sled dog racer and even
his dad’s fears can’t stop him from entering the big race.
If the Buddies can get him to the finish line they will be
on their way home, so they turn to the wise old Husky hermit
Talon for mentorship. Sure they can win with the former
champion sled dog in their corner, the pups go into
intensive training. But on the day of the race, they
unexpectedly find themselves on their own. Unfamiliar
terrain, harsh weather conditions and dirty tricks from a
rival musher teach the Buddies some valuable lessons about
heart, friendship and following your dreams. It’s not the
size of the individual dogs in the race but the heart of the
team that counts.
REVIEW: The "Air Bub" has
been one of the most popular franchises created by Walt
Disney for over a decade. This franchise has seen the
superstar dog "Buddy" play basketball, football, soccer,
baseball & volleyball all in a expand of five different
films. In 2006 Walt Disney Home Entertainment released "Air
Buddies", which follows the adventures of Buddy's five
talking puppies. This film quickly became one of the most successful
direct-to-video productions for that year. Now Walt Disney
Home Entertainment is releasing "Snow Buddies" the sequel to
this 2006 hit.
After the success of "Air Buddies", it was expected that a
sequel was to follow. The main problem with this film is
that it doesn't bring anything new to the table. In the "Air
Buddies" the idea of having talking puppies was cute and fun
for the entire family. In "Snow Buddies" the main idea
doesn't
change at all, same cute talking puppies getting into
trouble. However, the story in this sequel is flat and less
entertaining, making it a sleeper for grown ups and a one
time movie for the little ones.
Overall this film can be categorized as a kids' movie and
not a family movie worth only a rental for the kids.
This is not one of those Disney movies that kids would want
to watch over and over again.
The DVD includes all new
bonus, including hilarious bloopers, a brand new music video

Hannah Montana’s Mitchel Musso, putting a hip-hop spin
