REVIEW: THE FAMILY THAT PREYS
1/11/09

Academy Award® winner Kathy
Bates (Misery) and Academy Award® nominee Alfre Woodard
(Cross Creek) star as the matriarchs of two very different
families being torn apart by greed and scandal in the
contemporary drama Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys.
Hit-maker Tyler Perry (Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns) wrote,
directed and co-starred in this deeply touching family drama
which also features a star-studded ensemble cast including
Sanaa Lathan (Brown Sugar), Rockmond Dunbar (TV’s “Prison
Break”), KaDee Strickland (TV’s “Private Practice”), Cole
Hauser (2 Fast 2 Furious), Taraji P. Henson (Smokin’ Aces)
and Robin Givens (Boomerang). A box office and critical hit,
the film was declared “…undeniably entertaining, Tyler
Perry’s The Family That Preys is a shiny, two-timing
throwback to 1950s melodramas like Giant” (Philadelphia
Inquirer) and an “engaging drama” (Newsday). Tyler Perry's
The Family That Preys, offered in a widescreen or full
screen version, contains a host of bonus features including
multiple featurettes and deleted scenes, and will be
available on January 13, 2009.
SYNOPSIS: Wealthy
