REVIEW:
THE FINAL INQUIRY
02/06/08
The life of Jesus of Nazareth
continues to be the center of attraction for the film
industry and the film "A Final Inquiry" is no exception..
The production companies Italian International Film, Enrique
Cerezo Productions to name a few bring us an excellent
proposal on Christian family entertainment yet the movie
lacks ingredients to be called a well rounded film. The
Final Inquiry has an interesting and promising plot that was
not exploited and supported in cinematography.
It is 35 AD and the Roman empire has heard rumors of a
Jewish man named Jesus and his resurrection. In order to
find out the truth, Tauro, a Roman warrior, is sent to
Jerusalem to disprove the rumor . On this thrilling
adventure Tauro learns the true meaning of friendship, love
and faith. I While this plot is not only entertaining and
contains a beautiful message, the movie fails to highlight
this beauty.
While the scenes flow smoothly to tell the story, the music
selection did not correlate with the emotions being
expressed by the scenes. In addition, in this film we see
figures of history Caligula (Vincenzo Boccirelli), Pontious
Pilate (Hristo Shopov) Mary Magdalene (Ornella Muti) and
Mary, mother of Jesus (Maria Pia Calzone), which in spite of
their short appearances were well performed yet the main
characters lacked fluency in their acting and performances.
The empty gaps took away from natural performances so
typical of Dolph Lundgren, Daniele Liotti and Monica Cruz.
If the purpose of director Giulio Base was to bring a film
with a powerful message regardless of the cinematography, he
has met his goal. This film comes out in DVD on February 19,
2008.

I really enjoyed this
movie! It's about the investigation by
Rome into the death of Jesus.
There's plenty of historical/biblical
accuracy and action with a love
story...so the whole family can watch.
Great film and make you wonder what
everybody was thinking when the
eclipses, earthquakes, etc, starting
happening! |

This was a surprising
discovery. The actors carried us into an
important period of history. It appeared
to stick to the truth, as much as we are
aware of it. It is among the best
stories of Christ. |
